I have considered Neath Port Talbot Council to be my friends since 2000, when the Upper Afan Valley represented the council in McDonald's My Town Story in the Millenium Dome.
I was in charge of the project at Cymer Afan Comprehensive and I often think back to the wonderful experiences we all had. We looked at the past, the present and the future. This story was full of hope.
Having lived in Glyncorrwg all my life, and having spent 38 years teaching in the area, obviously I care passionately about the people, the area and the future of our town and valley.
Please continue to let our hopes thrive in a future of beauty and tourism, which has already begun.
Sunday morning is a particularly good time to recognise the tourism growth - Glyncorrwg is a leisure world. Campers, cyclists, fishermen, walkers and sightseers are in abundance. This is our vision, our future.
I am not totally against wind farms - but in inconspicuous places, please, not in full view of the campers, cyclists, fishermen, walkers, sightseers and me and my family.
Please remember 2000 and our hopes for a wonderful future.
